Homemade Body Butter

Many of the products we rub into our skin, often have so many extra ingredients and dyes that are actually doing more harm than good even when we smell good. While I love the softening and healing benefits of cocoa butter alone, this homemade body butter adds a delicious scent to a product that is great for your skin.

This orange and vanilla scented homemade body butter is made with raw cocoa butter, softening body oils, and delicious smelling and beneficial essential oils. I love creating homemade self care product recipes because I can alter the carrier and essential oils used based on their benefits, healing properties and aromas.

When looking for homemade and natural self care products you are in the right place. Not only is this a great recipe for yourself, but also to gift to family and friends. Let’s get into this homemade body butter recipe!

As for the equipment, the list is much shorter! You will just need:

  • Double Boiler
  • Hand/Stand Mixer
  • Mixing Bowls

Storing this in a jar is the best option for daily use. This cocoa butter body butter is whipped initially, so be sure to place in the jar immediately after you finish the recipe. Then this will harden and become just like a body cocoa butter you get from the store with the addition of a deliciously sweet orange dreamsicle scent.

Let me know how this homemade body butter came out for you in the comments and share a jar or this recipe with your family and friends! 🙂
