Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, browned

  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 3/4 cup cake flour

  • 1 cup bread flour

  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  • In a saucepan, heat up the butter on medium heat. Brown the butter until there are brown bits in the bottom of the pan and it begins to smell nutty.
  • Remove from the heat and let this cool for 5 minutes.
  • Pour the browned butter in a large bowl. Add the brown and white sugar and whisk together until combined.
  • Then add the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisking again until smooth.
  • Sift in all the dry ingredients at once of cake flour, bread flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Use a rubber spatula to fold the dry ingredients into the wet until a thick batter forms.
  • Add the chocolate chips and chunks and fold into the batter.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge to chill for at least 3 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Use a 3 inch scooper to make large balls of cookie dough and place on the prepared baking sheet. Keep each dough ball about2 to 3 inches apart from each other.
  • Bake for 13 minutes or until the edges are set and the cookies are golden brown, but the center is still slightly uncooked.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies for at least 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
