minutesThe cutest and most festive Easter treat. These no bake bird nest cookies combine sweet milk chocolate and peanut butter with shredded wheat cereal, topped with some Cadbury chocolate eggs.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups shredded wheat cereal
1/2 cup peanut butter
8 ounces milk chocolate
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
green food dye
Mini Cadbury eggs
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, melt the peanut butter and semi sweet chocolate in the microwave together at 30 second intervals until the mixture has become smooth.
- Pour the shredded wheat cereal into the chocolate mixture and fold together until completely coated.
- Take your cupcake pan and fill with cupcake liners.
- Place a heaping tablespoon full of the chocolate wheat mixture into each cupcake liner.
- Press the mixture into the liners with the spoon and create a well in the middle of each wheat mixture to emulate an eggs nest and create space for the eggs later.
- Place these in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- While those are hardening, place some green food dye in a plastic bag and add the shredded coconut. Seal shut and mix with your hands until all of the coconut pieces are green.
- Once the chocolate nests have hardened you can remove them from the cupcake liners.
- Sprinkle a little of the green coconut into each chocolate next and then place 3 Cadbury eggs on top of each to finish. Enjoy!
