Skin Evening Turmeric Body Scrub

Dark spots and scarring are so common these days. As someone who personally deals with a lot of scarring on my legs from childhood, I have been doing some research to find the best DIY recipes to combat it. Turmeric has hundreds of years of praise for its skin evening effects which is why I made this skin evening turmeric body scrub.

Not only is this perfect because you use it in the shower which means you won’t get the staining turmeric often leaves (I know from turmeric face mask fails!), but it also acts as a latherable body wash and scrub. With an added lemon essential oil for its scent and lemon castile oil, this scrub recipe literally has it all. Let’s get into it…

Equipment & Ingredients

To make this skin evening turmeric body scrub you will need these ingredients:

  • White Sugar
  • Castile Soap
  • Coconut Oil
  • Vitamin E Oil
  • Honey
  • Coffee Grounds
  • Turmeric
  • Lemon Essential Oil (optional)

As for the equipment, the list is much shorter! You will just need:

  • Sealable Jar (for storing)
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Mixing Spoon

I think DIY body care and self care products are my favorite to make because not only are you replacing consumer products with many ingredients that aren’t healthy for your body, but you also get to customize the scents and beneficial oils and ingredients to your personal liking. I also find this to be one of the easiest ways to make homemade gifts for family and friends, which most people enjoy because of the time and care you put in along with your personal touch!

Let me know how these came out for you as well as any alterations or substitutions you may have made in the comments. Don’t forget to share this skin evening turmeric body scrub recipe with your family and friends!
