Matcha Brownies

A sweet, matcha flavored fudgy brownie bursting with tons of white chocolate chips to balance the earthy flavors into sweet bliss. If you are a matcha lover then this brownie recipe is for you. It is so much easier than you think to upgrade a simple brownie recipe into something gourmet.

Even non-matcha lovers have loved these brownies. This match brownie recipe is thick, not to sweet, not too earthy, but just right. The white chocolate cuts through the heavy flavors in this dessert, so if your mouth is watering like mine is right now, lets hop right into the recipe.

To make these matcha brownies you will need these ingredients:

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the browned butter. To do this brown the butter sticks in a saucepan until melted, it begins to smell nutty and browned pieces are forming at the bottom of the pan.
  • Add the white sugar, brown sugar, salt and eggs in the bowl with the melted butter. Whisk together until combined.
  • Then add in the vanilla extract and whisk again until incorporated.
  • Pour in the flour and matcha powder. Use a rubber spatula to fold the dry ingredients into the wet, mixing until completely combined and the batter should now be a matcha green.
  • Add the white chocolate chips and fold into the batter. Transfer into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with a few extra white chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake in the oven for 25-28 minutes or until the edges of the brownies just slightly begin to brown and the top is crinkly.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting and serving!
