Join me in making a sweet, fruity and delicious berry galaxy mocktail today!
Sometimes we don’t always want an alcoholic drink, but we want to feel the same amount of care and effort is put into it as would if a bartender was shaking it up for us! That is how we get the…MOCKTAIL! As someone who likes to create and photograph beautiful and tasty recipes, I knew I had to make a non-alcoholic drink that still looked just as pretty or maybe even PRETTIER than what we see from the professionals at the bar.
So I’ve made this very berry and fruity mocktail recipe that I am about to show you all how to make. Lets get into it and start with the ingredients and equipment you will need.
Preparation and Ingredients
One thing I love about this recipe other than the fact that it is the prettiest drink I have every made, its that it quite literally only requires 5 ingredients, including the garnishes AND liquids. You will need:
- Grapefruit Juice
- Cranberry Pomegranate Juice
- Sprite
- Berries of Choice (I used raspberries & blackberries)
- Purple Edible Glitter
Along with these ingredients some helpful but not necessary equipment that you can get quickly on Amazon is:
- Cocktail Shaker (makes the process easier, but not necessary)
- Shot Glass
- Ice Cube Tray
Mixing the Berry Mocktail
After you have prepared and measured out your ingredients you can make a sugar ring around your glass. Ofcourse this is optional but adds the “IT” factor to this sweet and fruit mocktail recipe. To do this i dip the rim in some lemon juice and then straight into some sugar.
Now that is done measure out your grapefruit juice, cranberry pomegranate juice and sprite. Put some ice into the bottom of your glass. Then add each liquid in that order.
As you can see this berry mocktail is super simple, we are basically done. Stir those 3 drinks together quickly, then we will get to turning this into a galaxy mocktail.
Reasons to Opt For Mocktails Instead of Cocktails Every Once In Awhile
- Let’s start with the fact that Mocktails are a far more healthy, non-alcoholic alternative to a traditional cocktail. You get the fun, refreshing and cocktail-LIKe beverage without the risks that can be associated with drinking alcohol.
- Mocktails are super fun and festive. Like this fruity mocktail recipe that I turned into a galaxy mocktail. they can be transformed in as many ways and sometimes even more than a normal cocktail for whatever season or occasion.
- This one you probably aren’t expecting. Did you know you could use mocktails as a way to get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals. With many drinks such as this berry mocktail, they contain fresh fruits and vegetables, making them an avenue to get some of your nutrients in a tasty beverage.
- Last but not least, mocktails mean that the drink can be enjoyed by anyone. It isn’t only alcohol drinkers and adults over 21 that should be able to enjoy a dressed up drink. I love mocktails because they can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their age, making them the perfect beverage for any type of party, from family reunions to a non-alcoholic night in with the girls!
Turning the Berry Mocktail Into a Galaxy Mocktail
Last but definitely not least comes the most fun part of making this mocktail. Measure about 1/2 a teaspoon of the purple edible glitter, I personally LOVE the one I got from Amazon. Pour that into the finished berry mocktail and stir together for a good 30 seconds until the layer of glitter on top is combined into the drink and you notice a galaxy looking sparkly swirl in the drink. Finally top with the chilled raspberries and black berries for a finishing touch!
Look at that beautiful and sparkly galaxy mocktail up there. I know it seems a bit scary slurping up all that glitter, but that is the beauty of edible glitter, you don’t even taste it!
I can not explain to you how delicious this drink is, and I don’t think I need to because I am sure you are sipping on it right now! Share this recipe with your friends on family, or keep it a secret and make it for the next party you need to bring a drink to.
