Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Who doesn’t love a classic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. These are soft, thick and gooey and super easy to make. This recipe is an alternative for those who aren’t huge fans of oatmeal raisin cookies, like me.

To make this oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe you will need these ingredients: 

  • Unsalted Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • White Granulated Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Flour
  • Rolled Oats
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Chocolate Chips

As for the equipment, this is all you will need:

  • Mixing Bowls
  • 9×11 Baking Sheet
  • Cooling Rack

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 385 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the browned butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix together until combined.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Blend together again until smooth.
  • Pour the rolled oats, flour, and salt into the wet ingredients and fold together with a rubber spatula until a thick dough forms.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and evenly distribute within the cookie dough.
  • Cover this bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  • Use a large scooper to scoop large balls of oatmeal cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for 11 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let cool and finish baking outside the oven for about 3 minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy while still warm!
