Turtle No Bake Cheesecake Jars

Helloooo! This recipe today is for all you cheesecake lovers out there. This delicious no bake cheesecake jars recipe will have you in heaven for the 5 minutes it takes you to scarf it down!

If you are like me, you love a quick dessert recipe that doesn’t take too much time or energy. If that is you too, then this easy no bake cheesecake filling is the one for you. We are all busy people in this day and age, but we still deserve to make time for this act of self care…enjoying a sweet dessert at the end a long days work.

So, if you want to see how to make these 15 to 20 minute no bake cheesecake jars then stick around!

Equipment & Ingredients

Lets get into it! Start by gathering all your ingredients. You might need to head the store, but if you are an avid baker, you probably have all these ingredients in your fridge and cabinet already! You will need:

  • Cream Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Vinegar
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • Pecans
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Graham Cracker Crust Mixture

The ingredients for this turtle cheesecake recipe are very easy to find. When it comes to the vinegar and graham cracker crust mixture, here are some other options. The vinegar can be replaced with lemon juice in the easy no bake cheesecake filling if that is more readily available for you. As for the graham cracker mixture it is quite simply crushed graham crackers and melted butter. I also LOVE substituting this with an Oreo crust mixture, using crushed Oreos and melted butter.

The one thing I love about this cheesecake jars recipe is that there are so many easy substitutions, even when it comes to the filling. You can substitute other nuts and chocolates. Make this a fruity no bake cheesecake instead with strawberries or blackberries. As long as the no bake cheesecake filling is made the same, feel free to add any toppings to it!

Now here is the equipment you will need:

Hopefully you have a hand mixer or a strong arm and whisk already, but if not you can get an affordable one on Amazon. Along with that, my favorite mini mason jars are below too!

Making the Cheesecake Crust & Filling

Now that you have all your ingredients, lets quickly whip up the cheesecake filling. Start by adding the cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla extract, vinegar and sugar to a mixing bowl all at once.

Blend this together with a hand mixer for a good two to three minutes to make sure you get rid of as many clumps as possible since this is a no bake cheesecake filling. This is why I definitely recommend a hand mixer over a whisk for this cheesecake jars recipe.

Set the filling aside while you prepare the rest of your no bake cheesecake jars filling station.

Assembling the No Bake Cheesecake Jars

Here is my favorite part of the recipe…assembling the no bake cheesecake jars! While making these I definitely thought about how fun this dessert recipe would be to make with my nieces. This could definitely be a super kid-friendly dessert to make with the kids.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. You should have your cheesecake crust mixture, easy no bake cheesecake filling, pecans, chocolate chips and caramel in an assembly line in front of you. Get your mini mason jars open and ready too. Make sure to rinse or clean them out before using straight from the package.

Start by putting a heaping tablespoon full of the graham cracker mixture into each jar. Press that down to create a firm crust with the spoon or your fingers.

Next, fill the jars halfway full with the cheesecake filling. Top with some chocolate chips, then pecans, and a drizzle of caramel sauce. You want to repeat this process with all the no bake cheesecake jars, filling the other half with more cheesecake filling and turtle toppings.

The beauty of this easy turtle cheesecake recipe is its quickness. It should have taken you less than 8 minutes to assemble these jars. Now if you don’t mind eating your cheesecake jars unchilled then you could quite literally skip the next step! But for the best flavor in my opinion, I recommend you do let them chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

Refrigerate and Enjoy!

As I said before, you can cover your no bake cheesecake jars and throw them in the refrigerator to get a deliciously sweet and whipped cheesecake dessert in an hour or two.

Because this is an easy no bake cheesecake filling do not expect a firm cheesecake when removing from the fridge. With the use of the hand mixed and lack of oven, you will have a thick whipped version of the classic cheesecake. Not to worry because it still has all the wonderful flavors of the classic dessert.

  • Enjoy or store with the actual mason jar tops to seal the freshness.

Notes

  • A substitute for the vinegar is lemon juice
  • Expect the cheesecake to be more mousse - like, this is the difference between baked and no-bake cheesecake, baked cheesecake comes out firmer, whereas no bake is light and fluffier
